B utcher and Dr. Ginsberg went to

North by Northeast saved his life.
Even the Portland Observer fam
ily has found help at the health
center. After publisher Charles
Washington died of a heart attack in
2012, Dr. Ginsberg talked with pa
tient Mark Washington, Charles’s
brother, about his family history
and risk of heart disease and ar
ranged a visit to a heart specialist.
“It’s a blessing that this clinic is
here. They have saved a lot of lives,
including my own,” Mark Wash
ington said.

words shortly after news of the shooting
got out, “There are no words to fully
express our sorrow over the shooting at
Reynolds High School. We want the stu
dents, the parents and the educators - in
fact, the whole com m unity - to know that
they are in our hearts and our prayers
today,” he said.
Reynolds School District Superintendent
Linda Florence called the day “tragic” at a
press conference. “This is a very tragic day,
one that I hoped would never ever be part of
my experience,”.
The name of the shooter and victim have
still yet to be released by authorities.
This is the 74th documented shooting at
an American school since the Sandy Hook
m assacre in Newtown, Conn, in 2012.
Troutdale has a population of about 16,400
people.
"My thoughts heart is heavy...” said Gov.
John Kitzhaber, “Please keep students, staff,
the Reynolds community and first respond
ers in your thoughts and prayers."
