Valerie June was raised in small towns in Ten
nessee, and moved to Memphis following high
school to absorb as much of the music of the
MidSouth as she could. She feeds the sounds of
the church, folk, blues and country to her mind and
pours them out through original music and stage
savvy.
June will be performing in Portland at the Rose
Festival in Tom McCall Waterfront Park as part of
KINK on the Waterfront on Sunday, May 25.
