Anael Jeannis and Bel Mizik a seven member band, will join other members of the hip hop and entertainment community, in a Friday, April 25 benefit for survivors of
the Haiyan Typhoon that hit the Philippine city of Tocoloban last year.
Benefit Show for Typhoon Victims
A local hip hop super group
joins other well known members of
Portland’s hip hop scene for a con
cert to benefit survivors of Typhoon
Haiyan, a disaster that hit the Phil
ippines last year. The fun, entertain
ing and charitable event will be held
Friday, April 25 at the Analog Café.
The cause is dear to the hearts of
members of the company of La Fa-
milia Gang Music, sponsors of the
event. Sw iggle M andela (Bo-
Mandela Cordeta), and younger
brother Timmi Hendrixxx (Timothy-
John Cordeta), are both half Fili
pino. Many of their family members
were fortunate to have survived the
disaster, including their grand
mother whose home, along with her
neighborhood, were submerged in
15 feet of sea water. She and her
family, and many other suiyivors
were forced to relocate to other cit
ies as refugees.
The Haiyan Unity Benefit Show
will have an all-star lineup of local
Portland musicians. Featured per
formers include Anael Jeannis and
Bel Mizik, a 7 member super band,
and well known local rap musicians
Talilo and Taryn, who are also of
Filipino decent.
This will be a very diverse and
fun event for the whole family to
enjoy. Doors open at 7 p.m. and will
be for all ages until 10 p.m.
Every contribution will provide
many breaths of fresh air, clean water,
and supplies for the Haiyan survi
vors and volunteers of the Philip
pines.
