Grants to Help Woodlawn and Ro

the sta te ’s highest-need schools.

O regon's high-poverty, lo w -p er
f o r m in g s c h o o ls , in c lu d in g
W oodlaw n and R osa Parks in north
and northeast Portland.
T he legislation w on final ap
pro v al last w eek and is headed to
the g o v ern o r for his signature. It
provides $ 5 0 0 ,0 0 0 for sum m er pro
gram s that w ill add at least 60
hours o f learning tim e for over
5,000 o f O regon's m ost vulnerable
students. T he funding is an e x ten
sion o f targeted investm ents m ade
in 2013 for T itle I 'priority' schools.
