Famed folk
singer to
perform benefit
Peter Yarrow, of the fam ed
1960s folk group Peter, Paul &
Mary, will perform “An Evening
of Love and Laughter” to benefit
Portland-based W isdom of the
Elders, a Native Am erican non­
profit, on Friday, Feb. 14 at 7:30
p.m . at A u g u sta n a L u th e ra n
Church, which donated use of its
facility at2710N .E . 14th Ave.
Yarrow, who wrote some of the
trio ’s hits, including “Puff, the
M agic D ra g o n ” and “ Day is
D one,” has m erged m usic and
social activism in recent decades.
Since 1993, W isdom of the E l­
ders has served the N ative A m eri­
