Dance Africa Winter Concert The University of Oregon will present the annual Dance Africa winter concert on Thursday, Fri­ day, and Saturday, Jan. 23-25, at 8 p.m. in the Dougherty Dance The­ atre in Gerlinger Annex on the UO campus, offering Willamette Valley dance enthusiasts a unique oppor­ tunity to explore multiple cultures of A frica through their traditional dances. Concert tickets cost $ 10 for gen­ eral admission and $5 for student and seniors, and are available in advance from the UO Ticket Office, 541 -346-4363. Tickets may be avail- able at the door except in the case of a sold out performance. The 2014 concert, which will uti­ lize over 20 dancers and drummers, will also rely heavily on the talents of new UO faculty member Habib Iddrisu, who has created a new work for the company. Iddrisu, a tradi­ tionally trained dancer, musician, and historian from Northern Ghana, was bom into a family of court his­ to ria n s and m u sician s o f the Dagbamba/Dagomba people.
