Free Flu Shots on MLK Holiday
The flu season is here and the
number of patients testing posi­
tive for influenza is on the rise
with many of the cases quite
serious and even life threaten-

sacrifices that have been made
to live in a democratic society.
The event will also honor the
50th anniversary of K ing’s ‘I
Have a Dream” speech on Aug.
28, 1963 during the March on
Washington.
World Arts produces one of
the largest MLK observances,
utilizing the arts in a way that
amplifies the importance of edu­
cating all of America’s youth
about the Ci vil Rights movement
and the people who made it hap­
pen.
This year’s program will in­
clude an array of community
speakers from various civic and
social community organizations.
The format will include digital
media and high definition broad­
casts by civil rights era perform ­
ers.
The entire program will be
streamed on the Internet, Port­
land Public Schools "Television
Services, Portland Community
Media, and KBOO radio. “Oh
Freedom!” will showcase the
legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther
King Jr. by honoring him with
variety cultural expressions of
song, oration, dance and drum­
ming.
