Community Center’s historic Knott Street Boxing program be
returned to its former trophy display case. The boxing program had a
national prominence during the 1960s and 1970s for many local
African Americans.

Legacy of Activism
Aug. 28 - Portland commemorated the 50 year anniversary o f the
March on Washington fo r Jobs and Freedom with a march and rally
drawing upwards o f 1,000 people. Local speakers addressed issues
such as fair wages, gender inequality, affordable healthcare, police
brutality and the racial bias in the justice system.
