Festival of Trees a Holiday Tradition More than 1,200 volunteers will transform a corner o f the Oregon Convention Center into a winter wonderland and holiday village for the annual Providence F esti­ val of Trees, opening Thursday, Dec. 5 with a gala evening, tree auction and dinner. Public shows for audiences o f all ages take place on Friday, Dec. 6 from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and years in business 2 locations to Serve You Saturday, Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All the attendees will be able to celebrate the season by w ander­ ing through the festival’s w inter w onderland filled with 100 trees o f all sizes, wreaths and holiday vignettes created by local design­ ers, businesses and m ore than 1,200 volunteers. Live m usic, Santa photos, a teddy bear hospi­ tal, an elaborate m iniature C hrist­ mas village and cookie decorating prom ise hours o f entertainm ent for those who attend.
