Evenings o f Sensuous Tango
White Bird presents the Portland debut of the celebrated company Union Tanguera with
performances Thursday, Nov. 21 through Sunday, Nov. 24 at the Newmark Theatre, down­
town. Based in Lyon, France, the ensemble of seven extraordinary dancers and four musicians
from Argentina weave sensuality and human emotion through the dance and music o f pure
Argentine tango.
Holiday Favorite for All Ages
Stumptown Stages presents the holi­
day classic, It's A Wonderful Life, a new
musical adaptation of Frank Capra's clas­
sic film with book by Janet Mouser, music
and lyrics by Michael Allen Harrison, Alan
Berg and Julianne R. Johnson-Weiss.
The story is a holiday favorite for all
ages! An angel helps a compassionate but
despairingly frustrated businessman by
showing what life would have been like if
he never existed.
It's A Wonderful Life is directed by
Tony Award Winner Corey Brunish, cho­
reographed by Valarie Grudier Edwards,
musical direction by Jon Quesenberry, and
features Jordan Stanley as George Bailey.
A preview show opens on Thursday,
Nov. 21 before officially opening the next
night, Friday, Nov. 22 and continuing with
shows through Dec. 22 at Hatfield Hall, the
former Brunish Theatre at Portland’5 Cen­
ters for the Arts, 1111 S.W. Broadway.
