maintain its existing jobs and cre­
ate new ones.
Daimler's decision to expand
in Portland will protect not just
its white-collar headquarters jobs
but the manufacturing positions
as well, said Oregon Gov. John
Kitzhaber, a Democrat.
"I'm very, very proud that Or­
egon continues to be one of the
best places for advanced manu­
fa c tu rin g in th e c o u n try ,"
Kitzhaber said.

sion and touted the advantages
of manufacturing jobs.
