Beaverton's Celebration Pa­ rade has grown into a commu­ nity tradition. Area high school marching bands, colorful floats, and civic and cultural organizations will be cheered on by spectators as they make their way through the streets. The parade route begins at Beaverton Christian Church at the corner of Southwest Wil­ son Avenue and Allen Boule­ vard. It then takes Erickson Avenue to Fifth Street, pass­ ing by the Beaverton City Li­ brary. The parade ends at Griffith Park near Beaverton City Hall. Contigo ZOO Cuban & World Music Uniting through Song and Dance pettable animals lunch specials Leslie Mundt will be honored as Grand M arshal of Beaverton’s Celebration Parade for her more than 20 years of dedication and service as the parade’s parade coordinator. Mundt began her involvement with the parade in 1986 as a sports coordinator for Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation Dis­ trict. She retired in February. "I really enjoyed putting the parade together from the be­ ginning and seeing the hard work come together as the parade goes down the street," said Mundt. "It is such a thrill to see everyone so excited— from the entries to the specta­ tors."
