Four day festival
for great jazz,
blues and pop
The Vancouver Wine & Jazz Fes­
tival runs for 4 days this year, open­
ing Thursday Aug. 22 and continu­
ing through Sunday, Aug. 25.
The concert lineup features in­
ternationally acclaimed Grammy
winning jazz, blues and pop musi­
cians as well as a number of legend­
ary American iconic artists, includ­
ing: T ake 6; The F ab u lo u s
Thunderbirds; David Sanborn and
Bob James; David Benoit; Marcia
Ball; Johnny A.; The Brubeck Broth­
ers Jazz Quartet; and Elvin Bishop.
Local and regional jazz bands will
also be performing, and the Jazz
Education Stage will also provide
an opportunity for high school
musicians to perform each day. More
than 25 concerts will be performed
throughout the 4-day festival. A
special “Tribute to Dave Brubeck”
will be performed by the Brubeck
Brothers Quartet and a 90-voice
Festival Jazz Choir.
In addition to the music, the fes­
tival features over 200 wines from
around the world. Attendees can
sample wines with a 1-ounce taste
or purchase a glass to sip while
enjoying food from 9 local restau­
rants. The cuisine ranges from North­
west to Greek cuisine; from to Ha­
waiian fare to mouth-watering des­
serts.
Art and craft lovers can enjoy

Thorogood, Jeff Beck, J J . Cale and Eric Clapton.
