The Right Rev. W. Darin Moore, presiding bishop of conference’s Cascade District read the following appointments for 2013-14: The Rev. Robert N. Probasco Sr., pastor of First A. M. E. Zion Church in Portland; the Rev. Levi Harris, pastor of Pauline Memorial A. M. E. Zion Church in Salem; the Rev. JoyceM. Smith, pastor of Community A. M. E.Zion Church in Vancouver; and the Rev. His nickname was "Shogun, and he was true to his warrior image even as he faced his toughest oppo­ nent; pancreatic cancer. He was passionate about his fam­ ily which includes his wife, Janice Hoggans; his sister Barbara Ducket; his children Jason Hoggans, Kevin Cottrell Blanchard, Brandi Hoggans, Bradford Hoggans, Brandon H o g g an s, S idney H o ggans, M ichael Hoggans, and Blake and B rayden H oggans. He had many grandchildren, n ieces, nephew s, and cousins, friends and associates by whom he will forever loved and missed. After years in addic­ tion and incarceration, he was determined to change his life and dedicate it to the heal­ ing of his African-American broth­ ers and sisters who were still strug­ gling with addiction.
