F am ily Fund to directly support the
fam ilies o f the 26 w ho w ere killed in
the C o n n ec tic u t school shooting
last D ecem ber.
G re en e ’s daughter, A na, was one
o f the 26 victim s o f the Sandy H ook
sh o o tin g .
W hile in high school, Jim m y
G reene had the good fortune o f learn­
ing first hand from one o f the all tim e
g re a ts, J a c k ie M cL ea n . G re e n e
a d ap te d m u ch o f M cL ea n 's a d ­
v anced alto technique to the tenor.
O f course, there's som e C oltrane
and R ollins to be fo u n d in his sound,
too, bu t the end result is a style
that's m ain stream bop, albeit in his
ow n w ay.
G reen e is also an accom plished
