It all begins Thursday, July 4, with gates opening at 8 a.m. Entertainment kicks- o ff at N oon, the Kids' Patriotic Parade presented by Fred M eyer begins at 4 p.m. and the spectacular firew orks show launches at 10:05 p.m. T h e V a n c o u v e r T o y o ta M ain Stage w ill feature a w ide variety o f local and regionally reco g n ized e n ­ tertainers, including B eat Frequency and H it M achine. H o w ­ ever, it w as not until 1818 that A m ericans w ere able to see the text in engrav ed w riting as opposed to print. O ne o f the copies o f the docu m en t on d is­ play is from John B inns, a publisher o f n ew sp a­ pers and engravings o f fam ous A m ericans, w hose illustrated w ork w as reproduced in 1872 as the first photo-en g rav in g in the w orld.
