north and northeast P o rtlan d ’s an ­
nual seasonal rite o f passage: G ood
in the H ood.
The 31 st edition o f this co m m u ­
nity festival w ill begin w ith a free
k ick -o ff concert on T hursday, June
20, from 6 p.m . to 10 p.m. June 20 at
M c M e n a m in ’s K en n ed y School,
5736 N .E . 33rd A ve. T here w ill be
live m usic, and profits from food
and drink sales w ill go tow ard fi­
nancing the festival.
G ood in the H ood will cover three
days, Ju n e 28-30, at Lillis A lbina
Park at N orth H in t A venue at Russell
Street, ju s t north o f the old T ubm an
M iddle School property. There w ill
be a free co n cert on F riday, June 28
