Oregon Outdoors Week
A day of free parking and a night of free camping
awaits visitors to Oregon State Parks.
On Saturday, June 1, the Oregon Parks and Recre
ation Department will celebrate the 15th annual State
Parks Day by offering free tent, RV, and horse camp
sites and free day-use parking at state parks through
out Oregon.
State Parks Day is held on the first Saturday in June
each year as a kick-off to Oregon Outdoors Week.
"It’s a great way to thank Oregonians and visitors
for their support of our state parks," said state parks
director Tim Wood.
Many of the parks in the state system will also host
special events for State Parks Day, including disc
golfing at L.L. "Stub" Stewart State Park, west of
Portland; kayaking at Milo McIver State Park, east of
Portland; and birding at Tryon Creek State Natural
Area in southwest Portland.
Visit oregonstateparks.org for the full schedule of
events.
