R ecently a custom er called about
Ja c k ’s good service and said, "I take
this p articu lar bus to dialysis about
three tim es a w eek and I have had
him fo r about 4-5 m onths now . I am
in a w h eelch air and I had to ride the
L IF T for a few m onths because I had
to have surgery. W hen I got back to
regular service he realized that I had
surgery and he started dro p p in g me
o ff not at the stop, bu t in front o f the
actual building w here I need to go
fo r dialysis. T h en yesterday the 71
w as late getting to m y connecting
stop, and the 71 (operator) honked
the horn, and this o p erato r w aited
fo r m e to get o ff and to get to his bus
to get m e on. I am very appreciative,
and I w ould hav e m issed m y d ia ly ­
sis h ad he not w aited. I thought that
w as ju s t great and he is a w onderful
driver."

S em en y u k w on the aw ard for the
first tim e in 2008. H e started his
career at T riM et in 1996 and has
accrued 26 y ears o f safe driving
aw ards and 18 superior perform ance
aw ards.
S em en y u k has been a rail o p era­
to r since 2001 and has been aw arded
o p e ra to r o f the q u a rte r m ultiple
tim es. H e operates the B lue, G reen
and Y ellow Lines.
T errie S w eet is the part-tim e o p ­
erato r o f the year. S w eet has nine
years o f Safe D riving A w ards. She
jo in e d T riM e t is 2003 and w as
aw ard ed h e r sixth su p erior p e rfo r­
m ance aw ard in 2012.
