Broadw ay Sculpture a Transit Shelter A transit shelter for w aiting streetcar riders is being installed at northeast B roadw ay and W eidler in the R ose Q uarter. The eccentrically shaped sculpture w as de­ signed by artist Jorge Padro to provide a shelter w ith a “rainy on the outside, sunny on the inside” experience. Fabricated o f steel, w ood and fiberglass, the new shelter w ill include o v e r300 individual panels in shades o f gray and brow n on the exterio r, w ith w arm hues o f orange and yellow on the inside, sheltering p assen ­ gers in a highly visible and fantastically colorful w ay. Los A ngeles based Pardo w as the recipient o f a 2010 M acA rthur F oundation F ellow ship w ho exhibits his w o rk globally.
