New College Leader Made Official
Portland Community College’s
Board of Directors on Thursday
confirmed the selection o f Jeremy
Brown as the college’s next presi­
dent.
The announcem ent cam e as
B row n’s contract was ratified by
the board. He will begin work on
July 1, replacing Preston Pulliams,
who is retiring June 30 after serv­
ing as president since 2004.
A native o f M anchester, En­
gland, Brown has served as presi­
dent o f Dowling College on Long
Island and o f Edinboro University
o f Pennsylvania, part o f the state's
public university system.

Latin America, where he learned to
