Love of Trees with Author
Portland Audubon will welcome
author Phyllis Reynolds for a free
Arbor Month celebration of the trees
of our community.
Reynolds has recently totally
updated and republished her clas­
sic work from 1993, T rees o f
G reater Portland, a guide to the
m ost exceptional individual tree
specim ens in the Portland area,
com plete with m any color photos
and nine suggested tree walks in
Portland.
The celebration will be held at the
Audubon Society’s Heron Hall
visitor’s center at 5151 N.W. Cornell
Rd. on Saturday, April 27 at 3 p.m.
A native Portlander, Phyllis is a
graduate of the now Catlin Gabel
Phyllis Reynolds
School and the University o f M in­
nesota. She has served on the Ur­
ban Forestry Commission and was
the head of their Heritage Tree Com­
mittee.
