Portland’s diverse cultural traditions are celebrated during Colored Pencils Art and Culture Night.
Know Your Neighbors
New Columbia to host Colored Pencils night
Home Forward will open its New
Columbia Community Education Cen­
ter to co-host Colored Pencils Art and
Culture Night, abi monthly multicultural
family living room event featuring di­
verse art and performances.
The event will take place Friday,
April 26 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at
4625 N. Trenton.
Community members are invited to
share their culture through song, story
and dance in what promises to be an
evening of powerful human expression.
Artists from all races, creed, socio­
economic status, gender, and sexual
orientation are included. The commu­
nity building event aspires for people to
understand one another and bond to
our uniqueness.
Colored Pencils' mission is to pro­
mote identity, dignity andequity through
the arts.
There is a $5 to $20 suggested dona­
tion to help support the non-profit pro­
gram. The event is free for children,
students and seniors.
