Mission plans Easter Brunch Addictions Prevention Support Allen Tem ple C. M. E. Church created the R esurrection S ub­ stance Abuse program in 1993 out o f the need to address the epi­ demic problem o f drug abuse in the black com m unity and the com ­ munity at large. The goal of the program is cap­ tured in its motto, "Staying Clean Is Not Enough." Participants work at sobriety while also restoring their person to the fullness of God's cre­ ation. Resurrection meetings are held every Friday at 7 p.m. at Community A.M.E. Zion Church, 3605 E. 13th St. in Vancouver. Emmanuel Union Gospel Mission is plan­ ning its annual Easter Brunch for the homeless and people in need on Sunday, March 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its downtown location, 3 N.W. Third Ave. The event is free and open to anyone in need. The menu has been updated this year to include Eggs Benedict, am brosia, orange juice and cof­ fee. Union Gospel will also be pro­ viding hygiene kits to guests at the Easter event. Last year, be­ tween 700 and 800 m eals were served.
