The Northwest Film Center will present 10 o f her
greatest performances, with screenings in the glorious
35 mm in which they were filmed, beginning Thursday,
March 15 through March 31 at the Portland Art
Museum’s Whitsell Auditorium, 1219 S. W. Park Ave.
The screenings are inspired by Dan Callahan’s
recent biography surveying Stanwyck’s distinguished
career, “Barbara Stanwyck: The Miracle Woman.”
Callahan will be in attendance March 15 and 16 to
introduce The Lady Eve and Forty Guns.

Northwest jazz great Louis Rose.
Two Northwest jazz pioneers will join the
Portland Gay M en’s Chorus for a concert of
jazz, blues, and gospel on Friday, March 16
at 8 p.m. and Saturday, March 17 at 3 p.m. at
Reed College’s Kaul Auditorium.
Victoria, British Columbia pianist, com­
poser, and singer Louise Rose will per­
form with the chorus. Rose has shared
her love and talent for jazz with such
m usical legends as Aretha Franklin, O s­
car Peterson, Ray Charles, and Duke
Ellington.
Co-conducting the jazzify! concerts will
be P o rtlan d ’s own jaz z legend Dave
Barduhn. He brought national recognition
to the jazz program at Mount Hood Commu­
nity College and their flagship vocal group
Genesis.
