duce their form o f classic A m eri­
cana through perform ances at tw o
C hinese universities and a p e rfo r­
m ance hall, as well as a concert at the
G reat W all o f C hina.
A ll funds raised at the Feb. 23
concerts w ill help c o v er the costs o f
international airfare, C hinese stu ­
dent visas, and bilingual tour guides.

tural exchange, is brining diverse
songw riters, m usicians and trad i­
tional dancers all together on one
stag e.
O n Friday, Feb. 22, in co llab o ra­
tio n w ith D a v id D o u g la s H ig h
S c h o o l’s E nglish as a S econd L an­
guage program , the group w ill host
an evening to celebrate o u r loving
new P ortland com m unity.
T he R on R ussell M iddle School
Perform ing Arts C enter will be trans­
form ed into an outdoor m arket filled
w ith o u r diverse fam ilies.
H ear stu d en ts’ stories about their
jo u rn ey and life in a new land, as well
as the traditional m usic they and
their fam ilies bring to our city.
T he event begins at 5:30 p.m.
w ith a culinary assortm ent o f trad i­
tional foods prepared by students
and th eir fam ilies. V isual art and
perform ances by D avid D ouglas
E S L students and East Portland's
talented neighbors w ill follow .
