Airlines and Oregon Music News,
is presenting a Jazz Conversation
and panel discussions series.
Upcoming panelists include
Thursday, Feb. 14, with Barry
Harris and Darrell Grant at the
Portland State University Lincoln
Hall, Room 75, from 4 p.m. to5:30
p.m.; Friday, Feb. 15, with Juan de
Marcos, Laura and Gliceria de
Marcos and Alfredo Rodriguez at
Self Enhancement Inc. , from 2
p.m. to 3 p.m..
On Saturday, Feb. 16, Paul
DeBarros of the Seattle Times will
talk about the life and art of Jazz
Piano Legend Marian McParland
with Lynn Darroch at Ivories from
5 p.m. to 5:50 p.m.
On Sunday, Feb. 17: Wayne
Horvitz with Paul Debarros will
give a talk at the Oregon Jewish
Museum from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Also Sunday, Portland’s past jazz
scene on Williams Avenue will be
the discussion when Gerald Wil­
son, Sweet Baby James, and Mel
Brown discuss Portland’s Golden
Age of Jazz with Thara Memory at
Ivories from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
