36th Portland International Film
Festival on Thursday, Feb. 7.
The film is a silent-set rework­
ing of the Brothers Grimm
fairytale “Snow White,” offset
by punchy Flamenco rhythms
and full of imagination.
The festival is one of the
region's most culturally diverse
arts events, offering a broad
mix of new international fea­
ture films, shorts, documenta­
ries, and visiting artists, includ­

and innovative films to an audi­
ence of more than 35,000 an­
nually from throughout the
Northwest.
The Northwest Film Center,
with support from The Paul G.
Allen Family Foundation and
Mercedes-Benz of Beaverton,
invites you to join the screening
of Blancanieves at the Newmark
Theatre and the opening night
party hosted by Stella Artois
and King Estate Winery. Tick-
ets are $30.
After opening night, the fes­
tival maintains a strong down­
town presence with screen­
ings at the Film C en ter’s
Whitsell Auditorium, the Re­
gal Fox Tower, and the World
Trade Center Theater. Addi­
tional venues include Cinema
21, Cinemagic, and the Regal
Lloyd Center Cinema St.
The full program runs daily
through Feb. 23. A schedule is
available at nwfilm.org. Gen­
eral admission tickets are $11.
