An artist’s reception on Satur
day, Dec. 29, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.,
will kick off January’s featured art
ists of the month at Guardino Gal
lery, 2939 N.E. Alberta St.
The main gallery will contain oil
paintings by Judy Biesanz, and
b lo w n g lass by R yan S elby.
Guardino’s feature area will show
case mixed media assemblages by
ShellyCaldwell.
Biesanz’ oil paintings are large
and saturated with color and atmo
sphere. Her motif parallels many of
her dreams, inviting a narrative to
form that is an allegory from a more
subconscious level.
Selby is an emerging artist creat
ing blown glass sculpture. Form
and use of color are both important
aspects in his work.
Caldwell uses paint and model
ing to give her pieces support and
cohesion, leaning into the idea that
these pieces were bom and aged
together.
