The O regon Zoo will m ark V eter­
ans D ay by offering free adm ission
on M onday, N ov. 12, for m ilitary
veterans and active m ilitary p erso n ­
nel, as well as fam ily m em bers w ho
accom pany them to the zoo. F am i­
lies o f deployed m ilitary personnel
also w ill be given free adm ission.
“ W e w ant to show o u r gratitude
to those w ho have served o ur c o u n ­
try and the fam ilies w ho support
them ,” said Kim Sm ith, zoo director.
“O n N ov. 12, w e ’re observing V et­
erans D ay by inviting active or re ­
tired m ilitary personnel and their
fam ilies to enjoy a free day at the
zoo.”
V isitors m ust show a m ilitary or
veteran organization ID, discharge
papers o r other official m ilitary iden­
tification; fam ilies o f deployed m ili­
tary personnel m ust show an active
duty ID. T he Z oo Store is also offer­
ing a 10 percent discount for v eter­
ans, active m ilitary personnel and
their fam ilies, w ith proper identifica­
tion.
