Portland Parks and Recreation
offers sw im m ing lessons year-
round. But registration for the fall
lesson session is now open at six
indoor pools. Lessons are available
for swimmers of all skill levels from
age 6 months to adult. Group, semi­
private and private lessons are also
available.

Aszemar Glenn
The community is invited to
hear noted composer, pianist and
conductor Aszemar Glenn in a
benefit concert to help raise funds
for the new track at Roosevelt
High School in north Portland.
Glenn and his band will per­
form Saturday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. at
the Eagle’s Lodge, 7611N. Exeter
and Lombard Street.
The cost of a ticket is only $ 10
and 100 percent of the proceeds
go the Theodore Roosevelt Ath­
letic Complex project.
Glenn was born in Portland
where he was exposed to the
rhythm s o f soul and gospel m u­
sic. During his college years
classic music entered his reper­
toire.
