Barbara Leonard
Barbara Jean Hill Leonard was
born Jan. 8, 1947 to the union of
Ernest Hill Jr. and the late Estella
Hill in Portland. Our Lord and Sav­
ior called her home on Oct. 5,2012.
Barbara graduated from Girls Poly­
technic in 1964 and later attended
the U niversity of Oregon where
she graduated with a bachelor’s
degree in business adm inistration.
She started at Pacific Northwest
Bell (now Century Link) in college
and worked until she retired in 1998. She then took on the position of
telephone system s trainer consultant for three years.
She leaves to cherish her loving m em ory, husband Ben Leonard,
son Duayne W hite, daughter Serena Ashley (A ndre’), two step­
daughters, her father Ernest Hill Jr., brother Ernest Hill III, foster sister
Brenda Moon, an uncle and aunt, 13 grandchildren, and 4 great­
grandchildren. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins,
extended fam ily and friends.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11 at Maranatha Church,
4222 N.E. 12th Ave. Viewing will be at Ross Hollywood Funeral Chapel on
Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., as well as two hours prior to the
funeral service.
