Neighbors Host Voter Drive
Portland Playhouse in collaboration with the King Neigh
borhood Association and Rock the Vote presents Vote!
Rock! B leed!, an afternoon of music, theatrical politics, and
community building to encourage local residents to exer
cise their right to vote.
The event will be held at Portland Playhouse, 602 N.E.
Prescott St., on Sunday, Oct. 14. A ticketed preview of the
theater company’s rock musical Bloody Bloody Andrew
Jackson will be held at 2 p.m. with a free music event that
follows from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Rock the Vote's mission is to engage and build political
power for young people in our country. Rock the Vote has
registered more than five million young people to vote and
has become a trusted source of information for young
people about registering to vote and casting a ballot.
The non-profit group uses music, popular culture, new
technologies and grassroots organizing to motivate and
mobilize young people in our country to participate in every
election, with the goal of seizing the power of the youth
vote to create political and social change.
