Johns O ktoberfest takes o ff in north P ortland on
Saturday, O ct. 6 from noon to 8 p.m .
A benefit to light up the St. Johns business d istric t’s
street trees for the holiday season, the festival takes
place on the c o m e r o f N orth Ivanhoe Street and
C h a r le s to n A v e n u e in th e p a rk in g lo t o f th e
M cM enam ins St. Johns T h eater and Pub.
T he fam ily-friendly event will have free m usic, food
and fun. The m usic includes the M cM enam ins’ O om pah
B and, to play at 1 p.m .; the R oseland H unters at 4 p.m .;
and the C atch and R elease band at 6:30 p.m.
Special O ktoberfest m ugs are available fo r sale at
W eir’s C yclery, The B ody B istro, Etcetera, T he M a n ’s
Shop, A ce H ardw are, H ustad Funeral H om e, and the
O live and Vine. Local businesses w ill have special raffle
prizes, and crafters and artists w ill have booths along
C harleston A venue, w hich w ill be closed to traffic.
T here w ill be activities for kids, provided by C offee
K ids, and gam es fo r adults, organized by the St. Johns
B oosters.
