confronted a new headache Mon-
day after a video surfaced showing
him telling wealthy donors that al-
most half of all Americans "believe
they are victims" entitled to exten-

At a hastily call news conference
later in the day, Romney offered no
apologies for his remarks and when
he was asked if he was concerned he
had offended anyone, he conceded
the comments weren't "elegantly

stated" and they were spoken "off
the cuff."
President Barack Obama's cam ­
paign quickly seized on the video,
obtained by the magazine Mother
Jones, calling the video "shocking."
"It's hard to serve as president
for all Americans when you've dis­
dainfully written off half the na­
tion," Obama campaign manager Jim
Messina said in a statement.

Obo Addy
Dead at 76
Obo Addy, m aster drummer,
aw ard-w inning com poser, and
skilled teacher, passed away peace­
fully Friday surrounded by family
and friends. He had been battling
liver cancer since 2007. Addy was
76 years old.
A public m em orial is* being
planned and will be announced at a
later date.
Addy played music to the very
end jo in in g with family, friends and
musicians from throughout his life
for a few last jam sessions in his final
days.
Bom Jan. 15, 1936 in Accra, the
capital of Ghana, Addy was one of 55
children of Jacob Kpani Addy, a
