Zoo Discounts Program Renewed
p h lo t o g r a p h y by BiIra n d y K a y r a k ia n - R o w e
The Oregon Zoo’s popular Second Tuesdays
program, which offers visitors a chance to see
the zoo for the reduced price of $4 per person on
the second Tuesday of each month, will continue
thanks to a renewed sponsorship by the Walmart
Foundation.
“Thanks to W almart’s continued support, more
of our community can enjoy the zoo and learn
about wildlife conservation,” said Kim Smith, zoo
director. “It’s a tough economy, and we don’t
want the price of admission to be a barrier for
T erry F amily
anyone.”
“Second Tuesdays in the summertime are
often our busiest days of the year,” Smith said.
“We highly encourage visitors to use public trans
portation. You’ll avoid the heavy traffic, you
w on’t have to worry about parking, and you’ll
save even more on the price of admission.”
Visitors who ride MAX or the bus to the zoo
receive $ 1.50 off admission and also avoid the $4
per vehicle parking fee. Discounts require proof
of ridership.
