The Academy of Television
Arts & Sciences has honored
the IFC comedy Portlandia with
two Emmy nominations.
The TV series is on the ballot
for outstanding directing for a
variety series and outstanding
writing for a variety series. The
series previously won a 2011
Emmy award for outstanding
costumes, and a 2011 Peabody
Award.
Created and written by Fred
Armisen, Carrie Brownstein and
Jonathan Krisel, Portlandia wel
comes viewers to a' romanti
cized and dreamy portrayal of
Portland.
“We are honored the show
has been recognized with these
Emmy nominations,” said Krisel.
“It is a privilege to be part of the
conversation. We’d also like to
extend our thanks to the city of
Portland, which has embraced
and championed the show in a
way that I think none of us could Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen star in the TV comedy series
have imagined.”
Portlandia.
Sunshine, BBQ and a FREE,
all-ages, outdoor show by a New
Orleans’ sax legend, Grammy
nominated pianist JANICE
SCROGGINS, bass virtuoso
BEN JONES & a rotating cast
of Portland’s hottest percuss
ionists each week.
