Pool Closed after Shots Fired
A shooting in the Piedmont Neighborhood o f north Portland caused officials to lock-down the Peninsula Park pool for safety concerns, but no injuries were reported.
The shots were fired Thursday afternoon near Peninsula Park into a home at North Rosa Parks Way and Borthwick Avenue. Officers assigned to North Precinct and
the Gang Enforcement Team responded to the shooting, but the suspects had fled. Rosa Parks Way from Albina Avenue to Kerby was blocked o ff and parts o f the
park were temporarily closed to residents.

Ice Cream Store Robber Wanted
The Portland Police Bureau, in
cooperation with Crime Stoppers,
are asking for the public’s help to
identify the suspect of a June 26
robbery, when a man walked into
the Baskin Robbins ice cream store
on Southeast Powell Boulevard and
demanded money from the em ­
ployee.
The suspect, described as a white
male in his late 20s, approximately
180 pounds, implied a gun but no
weapon was actually seen. The sus­
pect fled the store and ran east-
bound on foot with an undisclosed
sum of money.
