Emcee Release Party at Branx
Portland rapper and emcee Illmaculate returns
from a European tour with his hometown crew
Sandpeople for an album release party on Satur­
day, June 2 at Branx, 320 S.E. Second Ave.
His video “Lost Our Soul" is the latest visual
from the new album "Skrill Talk" which has been
met with critical acclaim.
The track is Illmaculate's opportunity to give
praise and respect to the city he calls home.
"Portland was the inspiration behind the song,"
said Illmaculate. "I wanted to make an anthem
representing where I'm from, but in an original
way."
Southern rapper Ness Lee, co-produced the
video with Chase Moore and also laid down the
song's soulful hook. Illmaculate handles the verses,
his boisterous vocals giving a voice to his home­
town atop the hom-and percussion-driven beat.
