Karaoke
for Music
Education
Ethos-A Roke, a karaoke mara­
thon to benefit Ethos and its music
education programs, will take place
Thursday, May 17, from 6 p.m. to
midnight at at Voicebox Karaoke,
2112 N.W. Hoyt St.
Teams of one to 24 people can
register for a three-hour time slot in
their own private karaoke suite and
raise pledges for Ethos, a non­
profit dedicated to bringing music
education to underserved commu­
nities. There will be a red carpet-
- style photo backdrop, a swag bag
and other fanfare as karaoke divas
make an entrance.
Prizes will be awarded to the
team and individual that raises the
m ost d o n a tio n s. S ign up at

Ethos formed in 1998 in re­
sponse to a funding crisis in music
and arts education. Since then, the
problem has only worsened, with
music education slashed from
school budgets throughout Or­
egon and across the nation.
