Icons from nature are hidden within for open-ended scavenger hunts, and there is a gentle grass hill with a telescope dock, benches and picnic tables. The centerpiece of Zany Maze, however, is a beautiful Music Tree, which is decorated with imag­ ery from nature and bells that sing to the great outdoors. This exciting space also func­ tions as a changeable outdoor art gallery, with art installations made by children, for children. Zany Maze is merely Phase I of a long-range outdoor exhibit plan for the museum. Throughout the next 18-months, Phase II will transform 46,000 square feet into a natural, inspiring, all-season exhibit for chil­ dren and families. “Because Zany Maze is free and ADA accessible, anticipation is high,” says Melody Bridges, the museum’s director of marketing, communications and sales. “We expect over 350,000 visitors per year will play, learn and discover in this new community space.” Your Care Our First Priority D r.
