Livingston said. “We need to
intervene and try to get them to
use it in a positive light.”

be used for good or evil, said
Simpson. “But good parenting in
the past was getting to know your
kids friends.”
“Today, it is getting to know

in undisclosed locations through­

cade, kept hearing about a p ro ­
gram in Portland, O regon, that
helps people w ith past crim inal
p roblem s and traffic fines. T he

m otivated M cN air to go online
and fin d fu rth er in fo rm atio n ,
w hich p ro m p ted him to get in
touch w ith R oy Jay, the fou n d er
and executive director.
“M r. Jay spoke w ith m e e x ­
ten siv ely o v er the past m onth
and a h a lf as I told him that I

asked m e w here I w as living; he
sim ply m ade m e feel very c o m ­
fortable about doing the right
thing. I knew I had an o u tstan d ­
ing w arrant for m y arrest and
several co n v ictio n s, traffic tic k ­
ets that are h au n tin g m e,” said
M cN air. “M y fo rm er friends,
sports ath letes, rap artists and
people living on the edge w ere
not the so lu tio n .”
A nd after various co n v ersa ­
tions M cN air d ecid ed to co m e to
P o rtlan d to surrender.
“ H e is ready to face the m u ­
sic, re g a rd le ss o f the c o n s e ­
q u en ces,” said Jay. “ H e told m e
h is life c h a n g in g e x p e rie n c e
w here he has elev ated h im self
th rough h ig h er spiritual e d u ca ­
tion and w ants to give his testi­
m onial to both young and old that
m ay be living life on the ed g e.”
