Hit and Run Fatality
Portland Police are asking for
the public's help in identifying
suspects in Sunday's fatal hit and
run, which took the life of a 63-
year-old resident.
On Saturday, March 31, at ap
proxim ately 11:20 p.m., Portland
Police officers responded to the
report o f som eone lying in the
road on in the 2800 block of West
Burnside Street.
Arriving officers and medical
personnel located 6 3 -year-old
Nancy M argaret Schoeffler, who
was already deceased o f her inju
ries.
Traffic investigators have de
termined that Schoffler was cross
ing W est Burnside Street on foot
when she was struck by a vehicle,
which fled the area westbound on
Burnside.
The vehicle o f interest is de
scribed as a late 90s-early 2000’s
black or dark green Honda A c
cord sedan with damage to the
hood and front windshield that
was seen in the QFC parking lot at
S o u th w e st B arn es R oad and
M iller Road, where two women
were seen arguing 2 miles W est of
the crash location.
The women are described as
two white fem ales in their mid to
late 20s, blonde hair, short and
stocky, wearing baseball caps,
possibly with Portland Tim bers
logos on the caps.
The damage to the car is de
scribed as being more consistent
with hitting a person rather than a
pole or tree.

cash reward o f up to $1,000 for
inform ation reported to Crim e
Stoppers that leads to an arrest in
this case or any unsolved felony.
