Downtown Tasting Room Opens
Featuring wines from
Hawaii and Oregon
Locals and tourists alike can experience the beauty
and energy of Hawai’i and Oregon at Island Mana
Wines, downtown’s only wine tasting room, which
recently opened near Pioneer Courthouse Square.
Island Mana Wines offers the best fruit flavors of
Hawai i made with all natural and organic fruit - guava,
mango, passion fruit and pineapple, along with tradi
tional wines such as Pinot gris, Chardonnay, Cabernet
sauvignon and Pinot noir from one of the best wine
regions in the world, Oregon.
“The Hawaiian word Mana describes the spirit,
energy and essence of the islands,” explains Mark
Proden, winemaker. “Our wines seek to capture the
feeling of Mana the beautiful beaches, dramatic na pali
(cliffs), stunning sunsets and incredible tropical fruit
in every bottle. We put our Mana and Aloha into our
wines by handcrafting small lots of all natural fruits and
juices.”
Decorated in an island plantation theme, the tasting
room features wide-plank wood flooring, wainscoting
and vibrant tones of blue, yellow and red along with
prints of Hawaii’s beautiful scenery and a distinctive
wooden longboard bar counter.
Oregon-based owner and winemaker Mark Proden
manages Island Mana Wines and its sister label,
Bodhichitta.
