Urban Dance and Hip Hop
The Portland-based hip hop dance company the
Detail delivers its long-awaited concert. Around the
World Through the Movement of the Detail this
weekend at the Dolores Winningstad Theater, 1111
S.W. Broadway.
The show promises to challenge, captivate, and
inspire audiences of all ages.
Internationally-acclaimed, Portland-born artistic
director and founder of the Detail, Durante
Lambert continues to expand his dancers’ reper­
toire and has again masterfully created both a modem
and So Much More
“If You Can Think It,
I Can Create It. ”
and urban dance production that will incorporate hip
hop, African, jazz, tap, and contemporary pieces.
The Detail has thrilled audiences with their raw
athleticism, inventive choreography, commanding
stage presence, and most importantly, their conta­
gious enthusiasm and love for dance and theatre.
Performances are Friday, March 30 and Saturday,
March 31 at 7 p.m.; and Sunday, April 1 at 5 p.m.
Admission prices are $ 15 to $25. Tickets available at
the Portland Center for the Performing Arts box office
or through Ticketmaster.

Islamic Art Film — Islamic Art: Mirror of the Invisible
World, a new documentary exploring themes such as
the word, space, ornament, color, and water in Islamic
art, takes audiences on an epic journey across nine
countries and over 1,400 years of history. Two screen­
ings are scheduled on Saturday, March 31, at 2 p.m.
and 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Portland
Community College’s Sylvania Campus.

gardening plant and art sale takes

Superheroes Month -- For the whole month of March,
Portland’s Children’s Museum celebrates superhe­
roes in our community; people who make Portland a
great place to live and play. The museum is located
across from the Oregon Zoo in southwest Portland.
