(AP) — The singer-songwriter
behind the Grammy-winning 2010
single "Forget You" and the 2006 hit
"Crazy" is settling down — at least
for a few months — in a Las Vegas
residency.
Cee Lo Green says his semi-per
m anent show, "Loberace," will
launch Aug. 29 at Planet Hollywood
Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas
Strip, and run at least through the
end of the year.
"The production will com bine
Cee Lo's flamboyant sense o f style
and over-the-top creativity," pro
ducers said in a statem ent, adding
that the show "will be as inspired
and v isu ally alive as Cee Lo
Green."
Organizers say the show will in
clude a musical journey through
time, with tributes to Price and the
Rolling Stones. "M ind-twisting
magic and sexified showgirls" are
also on tap.
The 37-year-old Green, known
for his soulful voice and extrava
gant costum es, is a coach on the
NBC show "The Voice." His break
came in the m id-1990s in the south
ern rap scene, but has evolved to
include Gnarls Barkley, a collabo
ration between him and DJ-pro-
ducer Danger Mouse, and his 2010
solo album "The Lady Killer."
The 28 shows through the end of
December are scheduled for late
nights, and some follow Planet
Hollywood's "Peepshow" produc
tion in the 1,400-seat theater.
Green told the Las Vegas Re
view-Journal he sees himself con
tinuing Sin City entertainment tradi
tion.
"I love the city. I can't wait to be
a part of it. I can't wait to be officially
there," Green said in an interview.
"From this generation I would just
like to be able to carry on, and pick
up the torch and continue to make
Vegas a place to be."
