writer Patrick Lam b’s new single
“Sweet* Tea” rose to Number 5 on
the Billboard contemporary jazz
charts last week.
“The inspiration for Sweet Tea
comes really straight from where 1
started from -> rural Mississippi,”
Lamb said. “You can hear all the
influences of my life in the track. It
has a little church, a little Texas
tenor and a little Alabama southern
home-style cooking in it!”
A native Mississippian, Patrick
began his career as a teenager in the
rural south. He has worked, recorded
and performed with notable con­
tem poraries including two-tim e
combines raw talent and energy to
captivate an audience with his
charm, sincerity and pure magne­
tism.
“It’s always a pleasure to play
with Patrick,” said “Sweet Tea” co­
composer Jeff Lorber. “His musical
approach bristles with energy, vi­
tality and a lot of creativity and also
soul. He always seems to form a
close bond with the audience.”
Schuur, a two-time Grammy-win­
ning composer and artist said Lamb’s
playing and singing are simply fabu­
lous!
