Hollywood parade to collect donations

T he H ollyw ood B oosters and
Ross H ollyw ood Funeral Chapel will
once again host the c ity ’s largest
V eterans D ay Parade - and this y ear
parade volunteers have a special
w ay for people to honor veterans
particularly in need.
T he annual parade will begin at
9:45 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11 onN orth-
east 40th A venue at T illam o o k
Street in the H ollyw ood D istrict. It
will m arch south to N ortheast Sandy
B oulevard, and conclude at Ross
Chapel, 4733 N.E. Tillam ook St., for
a cerem onial raising o f the flag.

W ar II veteran G eorge T im m ons as
grand m arshal, and there w ill be
high school m arching bands, ser
vice organizations and public offi-
cials as well as veterans groups
m arching or riding by.

volunteers will push an open w agon
over the route. The public is asked
to toss blankets, in useable c o n d i
tion, into the w agon for use by hom e
less veterans w ho spend nights on
