Formerly a mainstay of the Janu­ ary arts and cultural calendar, Reel Music moves to October this year to accommodate its growth and in­ creasing popularity. Screenings take place beginning Friday, Oct 7 through Sunday, Oct. 23. The opening night film is a new biopic about one of the world’s most beloved musicians, directed by a film m ak in g legend: M artin Scorsese’s George Harrison: Living in the Material World, which screens on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Film Center’s Whitsell Auditorium. Scorsese weaves together never- before-seen material, including in­ terviews with Harrison and his clos­ est friends, performances, home movies, and photographs, result­ ing in a rare glimpse into the mind and soul of an extraordinarily tal­ ented artist. Killingsworth St. The interactive DVD by Jorge Espinoza is a response to the need fo r su b sta n tiv e c o n v e rsa tio n s about race, racism and privilege. Espinoza, whose expertise in speech and interpersonal communication, culture, conflict resolution, and in­ tercultural relations has been honed through an ongoing practice for over 30 years, will facilitate a discussion during the screening.
