volun teers o rg an ized the event,
they sorted clothing and p re ­
pared and served m eals.

versity Singers, W omen’s Chorale,
and Jazz Band will be performing
their first concert of the year at 3 p. m.
Sunday, Oct. 2.
The concert will be in the Buckley
Center Auditorium on the Univer­
sity of Portland campus, 5000 N.
Willamette BI vd. The concert is free
and open to the public.

Church Hosts Parents Workshop
In an effort to help prepare
sons and daughters o f the com ­
munity to be the most successful
in their own lives, Dr. Jay Klusky
and the V ancouver Avenue First
Baptist Church will hold a w ork­
shop event for parents to learn
new skills on how to help their
children m eet today’s challenges.
